I first learned to crochet as a child along with knitting, as was the custom many years ago.  I focussed more on knitting on and off over the years but re-discovered crochet when my children had grown up and became more independent, giving me the time to indulge in my hobbies.  Crochet became my de-stress from work and life in general and there are now very few days that go by without crochet being involved in some form or another.  I sell my makes in a local Vintage Emporium which gives me a good excuse to buy more yarn (a separate hobby altogether) and make more things.
